Sadie finished with the dishes and hung them on the rack to dry. She had a feeling that he was going to start asking questions soon about her. Sadie noticed that he was watching her with the same intensity as he had since the moment they met. When she was done, she had a sudden impulse to go out in the rain. As if he could read her mind Keith brought it up.
"You want to go for a walk?" He asked. Sadie smiled and nodded. She crossed the room to the coat-tree and grabbed her long jacket and pulled it on. Keith smiled down at her and grabbed his own off the tree, following her out the door. The house was located near a large lake and was far into the country, so they didn't bother to lock the house. She did a mental scan of the place and couldn't sense anything dangerous. However, to be on the safe side, she stashed a gun in her pocket and her swords were already on her. Outside, he pulled his hood over his face to shield him from the rain. She however didn't bother with one.
"It's ok, I love the rain and I rarely get sick," she said, answering his quizzical expression on his face. The pouring rain created a dense fog around the house and the lake, giving it a haunted look. Another thing that she loved about the place.
"This fog always creeped me out," he explained walking closer to Sadie. He had a gun as well in his pocket that she gave him. The rain continued to beat down on them as they walked around the place. She could sense that his mood was nostalgic as they walked about the grounds. It was starting to get dark but, that didn't seem to bother her and Keith really wasn't that tired. They reached a thick forest and he was able to remember an old trail and took it. Sadie's blue eyes went wide. Keith smiled and gave her a puzzled look.
"What?" He asked.
"You know this trail?" She asked.
Keith nodded.
"I've used this trail ever since I moved here!" She exclaimed. He smiled.
"I created this trail," he explained. Sadie laughed. She had wondered why he knew it so well. He led her to his favourite childhood hideout. A place he never took anyone. Not even Joyce. Sadie felt lucky. There it was her turn to talk about herself.
"Well, to start with, I LOVE the rain; It's always felt so soothing to me," she began. She went on to tell him about her past.
She was a ninja and was born in Idaho. Her father was killed mysteriously and she never knew her mother. A Ninja assassin by the name of Hoshi Yawasaki, took her in and raised her as his own daughter. She had been in love only once but, the man she had fallen for was in love with her best friend so, she left Boise to live where she was now in Washington State. During the day, she worked for a Lawyer as his assistant. She even told him about how she could sometimes read minds and mentally see what's going on around her. Sadie blushed slightly. She wasn't used to opening up to people like this. Keith smiled at her as he got up and lit some candles. He liked her and hopefully she liked him back. They both opened up to each other and talked long into the night. Little did they know of what awaited them when they woke up.....
